Ford of Europe has unveiled the off-road-focused Ranger Tremor special edition, though it won’t be coming to Australia anytime soon.

This announcement of the Ford Ranger Tremor for Europe was bundled in with the Ranger Wildtrak X that’s confirmed to be arriving in Australian showrooms during the second half of 2023.

“Ranger Tremor is an exciting new addition to the global Ranger line-up, as announced by Ford of Europe overnight,” said a Ford Australia spokesperson.

“We have no news to share around Ranger Tremor for Australia right now.”

The Ford Ranger Tremor is based on the European mid-spec XLT and shares its mechanicals with the Wildtrak X.

This means the Ranger Tremor is powered by a 2.0-litre bi-turbo four-cylinder diesel engine with 150kW of power and 500Nm of torque.

This engine is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission with drive sent through a full-time four-wheel drive system which features a 4A mode.

A highlight of the Ranger Tremor, like the Wildtrak X, is tweaked suspension comprising Bilstein position-sensitive dampers with a monotube design and a nitrogen-charged external reservoir.

There are also 17-inch alloy wheels with 265/70 R17 General Grabber AT3 all-terrain tyres as standard.

Thanks to the tweaked suspension setup and all-terrain tyres the Ranger Tremor has an increased track width of an undisclosed amount. The Ranger Wildtrak X has a 30mm wider front and rear track than the Wildtrak, as well as 26mm more ground clearance.

On the outside the Ranger Tremor has extended wheel arch mouldings, a long-leg tubular sports bar, cast aluminium side steps, exposed twin front two hooks, Boulder Grey exterior highlights, and a darkened grille.

The Ranger Tremor also comes with Ford’s Flexible Rack System, which was only recently introduced, and includes two main components that can be adjusted to fit a variety of items.

Inside it comes with vinyl seats and flooring, as well as a pre-wired overhead switch pack with six inputs for winches, LED light bars and other accessories.

Ford has said the Ranger Tremor is now available to order in Europe, with initial deliveries expected from August 2023.

As noted above, the Ford Ranger Tremor won’t be coming to Australia but the Ranger Wildtrak X will come in the second half of 2023.
