Mercedes-Benz S-Class recalled

Mercedes-Benz Australia has recalled 423 examples of its seventh-generation W223 S-Class, due to a fault which can cause a reduction in braking performance.

“The front axle brake hoses could become defective over time due to high temperature and moisture. This may lead to a brake fluid leak resulting in a reduction in braking performance,” the carmaker said in its recall notice.

“A reduction in braking performance could increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.”

• A total of 423 vehicles built between 2020 and 2023 are affected
