Genesis has opened three new retail showrooms in Melbourne, Brisbane, and the Gold Coast as it continues to grow in Australia.

These three new local showrooms were all previously ‘Test Drive Centres’, but have been revamped with a new, more premium look in line with its other retail locations.

They complement the luxury carmaker’s “flagship studios” in Melbourne and Sydney, as well as the exisiting retail showrooms in Perth and Parramatta.

These retail showrooms give prospective buyers the opportunity to test drive a vehicle and look rather more like a conventional luxury car dealership.

The flagship studios on the other hand are in inner-city locations with high levels of foot traffic.

The Genesis Melbourne showroom is located in Prahran, the Genesis Brisbane showroom is in Fortitude Valley, and the Genesis Gold Coast showroom is in Southport.

To commemorate the opening of the three new Genesis showrooms, the company is taking its X Convertible concept that was first revealed in 2022 on a roadshow across the eastern seaboard.

The sporty-looking four-door electric convertible concept will first be displayed in the Sydney and Melbourne flagship studios, before heading to the Brisbane and Gold Coast showrooms over the coming months.

Genesis, which is a luxury division of Hyundai, first launched locally as a standalone brand in 2018.

Its range currently comprises the G70 and G80 sedans, GV70 and GV80 SUVs, as well as the GV60, Electrified G80 and Electrified GV70 electric vehicles (EVs).

Genesis has had a solid start to 2024 with a total of 130 vehicles sold in January according to the latest VFACTS sales data. This is up 22.6 per cent year-on-year.

It outsold brands including Alfa Romeo (94 sales), Jaguar (63 sales), and Maserati (24 sales), though it was beaten by the likes of Land Rover (522 sales), Volvo (644 sales) and Lexus (873 sales).
