Lexus Australia is recalling over 1000 examples of its NX crossover due to a fault with its automatic high-beam system.

“Due to a programming issue, the Adaptive High Beam System (AHS) LED units (high beam) and AHS ECUs (Electronic Control Unit) may incorrectly detect the signals for switching from low beam to high beam,” the company says in its recall notice.

“If this occurs, a warning message will display and render the high beam inoperative.

“A non-operational high beam may increase the risk of an accident, resulting in injury to occupants of the vehicle and other road users.

“Vehicles are not compliant with ADR 13/00 – Installation of Lighting and Light Signalling Devices on other than L-Group Vehicles.”
