Hyundai Tucson recalled

Over 11,000 current-generation Hyundai Tucson SUVs are being recalled as they may not display key information like the vehicle speed.

"Due to a software issue, the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) and Head-up Display (HUD) information may fail to illuminate the visual vehicle speed, fuel level and other critical safety information," the company says in its recall notice.

"Loss of safety system warnings when driving could increase the risk of an accident, causing injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users and bystanders."

Hyundai notes owners of some vehicles – understood to be those with Bluelink connected services – may be eligible for an over-the-air update.

If your vehicle doesn't support over-the-air software updates, you'll need to schedule an appointment with an authorised Hyundai dealer to have the software update applied, free of charge.
