Ford Mustang Mach-E recalled

Ford Australia is recalling over 800 examples of the Mustang Mach-E electric SUV as they could unexpectedly lose power or move when parked.

"Due to a manufacturing issue, the rear differential pinion shaft could break, resulting in a loss of motive power or loss of the park function when the vehicle is stationary," the company says in its recall notice.

"A loss of motive power or unintended movement when parked increases the risk of an accident and serious injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users, and pedestrians."

A warning light may illuminate, and the vehicle may display diagnostic trouble codes P174E, P0A2F, P019C, or P27B2.

• A total of 867 rear-wheel drive Mustang Mach-E SUVs are affected, produced between 2022 and 2023

If you own an affected vehicle, you'll need to schedule an appointment with an authorised Ford dealer to have the rectification work carried out, free of charge.
