Cupra Australia has detailed yet another special-edition version of its Formentor top-seller, this time donning high-tech Matrix LED headlight technology and a new alloy wheel design.
The Cupra Formentor VZx Matrix Edition wears national drive-away pricing of $70,490 – $1500 more than the ‘standard’ Formentor VZx – and debuts Matrix LED headlights for the Australian range.
It also receives the unique Black leather interior previously reserved for the Formentor Rojo Edition, as well as a new alloy wheel design never before offered on local Formentor models.
According to the Spanish brand, the Formentor VZx Matrix Edition is the first Cupra in Australia to be equipped with the headlight tech, which “can shut off that part of the beam that shines on forward or oncoming traffic while maintaining full high-beam illumination elsewhere”.

Options include premium and matte paints – Graphene Grey premium metallic asking for $475, while Petrol Blue Matte and Magnetic Tech Matte command a $2300 premium. Buyers can also add a panoramic glass sunroof for a further $2100.
The limited edition is limited to “some 100 examples” for Australia, and are on sale now.
Cupra Australia has also confirmed there’s a limited number of Formentor VZx Rojo models still available from the special batch of 30 units.
