Xpeng has so far introduced only electric vehicles (EVs) to the Australian market, but it's now entering the extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) space with the L03 mid-size SUV.
Australia is among the first right-hand drive export markets to receive the new L03, introducing the Chinese automaker's Kunpeng EREV technology alongside its latest intelligent cockpit and advanced driver-assistance systems.
The EREV will be available in a sole 'Power-X' variant alongside three pure-EV versions. Interestingly, pricing for the EREV and the entry-level 'Standard Range' EV is identical at $41,900 before on-road costs.
The Long Range EV brings a larger battery with a higher asking price of $46,900 before on-roads, while the flagship Performance Ultra costs $53,900 plus ORCs. The Performance Ultra is the only all-wheel drive L03 grade available locally, featuring a dual-motor setup with increased power, along with some more advanced tech.

The EREV utilises a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine to charge a 37kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery; it can't drive the wheels directly. Xpeng claims it has more than 200km of WLTP electric range and a combined range of more than 1000km.
Inside, the L03 features a 15.6-inch central infotainment touchscreen, 256-colour ambient lighting, intelligent climate control, and lounge-style front seats with heating, ventilation, four-way power lumbar adjustment, and 14-point massage function. As ever, technology is a major focus.
Most fascinatingly, Xpeng says its advanced 'Navigation Guided Pilot' (NGP) and Vision-Language-Action (VLA 2.0) tech – enabling semi-autonomous driving capabilities similar to Tesla's Full Self-Driving (FSD) – will be introduced locally via an over-the-air software update in 2027.
This will likely launch with the Performance Ultra first, given it's the only variant fitted with three advanced Turing AI chips.
