The 2026 Volkswagen Crafter Runner Van has been announced as a new entry-level version of the large commercial van, with prices starting from $59,990 drive-away until the end of September 2026.

According to Volkswagen, the new Crafter Runner Van saves $10,000 over the MWB TDI360 – the previous base variant.

Designed as a stripped-back delivery van, the Crafter Runner is based on the mid-wheelbase body, with a gross vehicle mass (GVM) of 3.55 tonnes.

The Runner is powered by Volkswagen’s 2.0-litre ‘TDI360’ turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine producing 130kW of power and 410Nm of torque, driving the front wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Inside, the three-seater bench seat has been replaced with two single seats, trimmed in a hard-wearing leatherette upholstery, with the driver getting a leather-wrapped steering wheel.

There’s also a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.4-inch infotainment touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, reversing camera, keyless entry and start, automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers, automatic start-stop, and cruise control.

The cargo area features a partition with a fixed window, load restraints, LED lights, and space for up to four Euro pallets.

Along with a steel spare wheel, the Crafter Runner has blind-spot monitoring, move-off alert, cross-wind assist, autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist monitoring, lane-keep assist, lane-change assist, hill hold, and driver monitoring.

While the 2026 Volkswagen Crafter Runner is priced from $66,990 before on-road costs, the company is currently offering the van for $59,990 drive-away until September 30, 2026.
