The Ford Ranger Black Edition has joined the best-selling ute’s already wide lineup, bringing greater value to buyers of the entry-level dual-cab.
Based on the Ford Ranger XL 4×4 dual-cab bi-turbo ute, the Black Edition is limited to just 1500 examples, with Australian deliveries due to start between now and the end of September 2024.
Priced from $56,680 before on-road costs, its list price is $2300 dearer than the grade upon which it’s based.
However, it wears a nationwide drive-away price of $57,990 drive-away when finished in the no-cost Arctic White paint, making it between $1851 and $4292 cheaper than its XL counterpart.
| State or Territory | Ford Ranger XL drive-away price | Ford Ranger Black Edition saving |
|---|---|---|
| South Australia | $59,841 | $1851 |
| Tasmania | $59,868 | $1878 |
| Queensland | $59,876 | $1886 |
| Victoria | $59,968 | $1978 |
| Northern Territory | $59,973 | $1983 |
| Australian Capital Territory | $60,732 | $2742 |
| New South Wales | $60,858 | $2868 |
| Western Australia | $62,282 | $4292 |

In addition to the standard equipment from the Ranger XL, the Black Edition is fitted with a black sports bar, drop-in bed liner with a 12V socket, Asphalt Black 17-inch alloy wheels (shod in all-terrain tyres), black side steps, and a unique Asphalt Black grille with Bolder Grey inserts.
It’s powered by a 2.0-litre bi-turbo four-cylinder diesel engine which produces 154kW of power and 500Nm of torque, mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission and part-time four-wheel drive system.
All Ford Ranger variants boast a braked towing capacity of 3500kg.

Buyers can continue to add the Ranger XL’s optional extras to the Black Edition, including prestige paint (Meteor Grey, Aluminium and Shadow Black) for $700, as well as a Towing Pack for $1900 and a manual roller shutter for $3000.
The following standard features from the Ford Ranger XL also carry across to the Black Edition:
