Interested in a Volkswagen Caddy?

The Volkswagen Caddy has received additional equipment for 2023. It’s available now.

UPDATE, 06/02/2023 – Volkswagen Australia has increased the asking price of the Caddy and Caddy Cargo range by $500 amid a wider price rise.

“Shippings costs certainly aren’t diminishing. For as long as possible we shielded customers from associated price rises,” said a Volkswagen Australia spokesperson.

“We do not allow orders made prior to the designated increase date to be subject to an extra impost.”

All models feature wireless phone charging, while the Caddy Cargo and Crewvan now feature lane-keep assist as standard.

All models also now feature Volkswagen’s Front Assist autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection and junction assist, which is active between 5km/h and 85km/h.

The Life, Crewvan and California now feature opening side windows within their sliding doors, which Volkswagen says allows approximately 40mm of “pop-out space” for additional ventilation.

Life models also gain decorative chrome trim on the sliding doors and their rails, plus the tailgate.

Due to the semiconductor chip shortage, the Caddy Cargo is temporarily unavailable with Park Assist and the Discover Media satellite navigation system.

    TDI280 and TDI320 models use a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine. This produces 75kW and 280Nm in the TDI280 and 90kW and 320Nm in the TDI320.

The TDI280 is only available with a six-speed manual transmission, while the TDI320 is only available with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

    Efficiency

The 2023 Volkswagen Caddy uses 6.4L/100km on the combined cycle in manual petrol guise and 6.2L/100km with the automatic. They require 95RON premium unleaded fuel.

All diesel models use a claimed 4.9L/100km.

Payload figures for petrol and diesel variants are very similar, with up to 724kg in SWB Cargo models and 754kg in the Cargo Maxi.

Braked towing capacity for the manual TSI220 models is rated at 1400kg, whereas the dual-clutch TSI220 and diesel models can tow 1500kg.

    Servicing and Warranty

The 2023 Volkswagen Caddy is backed up by a five-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty with one year of roadside assist.

Currently, Volkswagen is offering (until 31 December 2022) a five-year service Care Plan for the price of a three-year plan. This is priced at $1500.

Servicing is required every 12 months or 15,000km, whichever comes first.
