The 2020 MG 3 range consists of just two models, with the base MG 3 Core priced at $15,990 before on-road costs and the MG 3 Excite priced at $18,490 before on-road costs.
The MG 3 is the only non-SUV in MG’s range following the discontinuation of the MG 6. Its main rivals include the Honda Jazz and Toyota Yaris.

The 2020 MG 3 is available only with one powertrain: a naturally-aspirated 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine producing 82kW and 150Nm and mated exclusively to a four-speed automatic transmission.
The 2020 MG 3 consumes 6.7L/100km on the combined cycle and requires more expensive 95RON premium unleaded fuel.

The 2020 MG 3 measures 4055mm long, 1504mm tall and 1729mm wide.
The MG 3’s total luggage space is 307L, increasing to a maximum of 1081L with the rear seats folded.
The MG 3 has never been crash-tested by ANCAP, though it received a disappointing three stars when assessed by Euro NCAP in 2014. It also lacks some modern safety features like autonomous emergency braking.
All 2020 MG 3 models come standard with anti-lock brakes and six airbags.

MG doesn’t currently offer capped-price servicing for the MG 3, though it does offer a service plan. The MG 3 also has a seven-year unlimited kilometre warranty.
