    2014-15 Mercedes-Benz C200 recalled

A defective alternator could cause a vehicle fire in the 2014-15 Mercedes-Benz C200.

Mercedes-Benz is recalling 3728 examples of its C200 due to the risk of a vehicle fire.

“The vehicle alternator may fail under specific operating and ambient conditions,” the company says in its recall notice.

“If the vehicle alternator overheats it may cause a vehicle fire.

“A vehicle fire could increase the risk of injury or death of vehicle occupants and/or bystanders, as well as property damage.”

If you own an affected vehicle, you’ll need to contact a Mercedes-Benz dealer to organise a free inspection and repair.
