Audi has recalled A8, S8, and S8 Plus models fitted with a 4.0-litre turbocharged V8 engine to fix a problem with the engine bay seal.

“The engine bay seal may become warped and come loose. If this occurs, engine vibrations may result in the seal making contact with hot components in the engine bay,” the company says in its recall notice.

“If the engine bay seal makes contact with hot components, there is a risk of it or other components scorching. This may result in a fire or smoking from the engine bay, which may cause an injury.”

    • A total of 67 vehicles are included in the recall from model years 2012 to 2017.
    • The original recall notice is attached here.
    • A VIN list of affected vehicles is attached here.

Audi Australia will contact owners of the affected vehicles and advise them to organise a free fix with their nearest dealer.
