The new Volkswagen Polo is a Light Luxury offered in both 5D Hatchback and 3D Hatchback body styles. Available in Australia from $16,690 (MLRP, excl. on-roads) for the Trendline variant and topping out at $28,990 for the GTI.
There are 3 variants of the Polo available in Australia and this generation went on sale in September of 2011.
Engine options include 1.6L turbo diesel common rail (66kW/230Nm), 1.2L turbo petrol direct injection (77kW/175Nm), 1.4L turbo & supercharger petrol direct injection (132kW/250Nm) and 1.4L multi-point injection (63kW/132Nm). Available with 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual or manual transmissions. All variants feature front-wheel drive.
The new 2012 Polo is offered with a 3 year, unlimited km warranty.
