Axe looms over electric Porsche 718 Boxster and Cayman project – report
Porsche’s new boss is said to be considering scrapping plans for an electric Cayman and Boxster, due to delays and cost overruns.

The new Porsche 718 is a sport available in Australia from $139,786 (driveaway) for the Cayman variant and topping out at $355,406 for the Boxster Spyder Rs variant.
There are 10 variants of the 718 available in Australia and this generation went on sale in early-2016.
The new 2025 718 is offered with a 3 year, unlimited km warranty.
Engine options for the Porsche 718 include 2.0L horizontal 4-cylinder turbo (220kW/380Nm), 2.5L horizontal 4-cylinder turbo (257kW/420Nm), 4.0L horizontal 6-cylinder (294kW/420Nm), 4.0L horizontal 6-cylinder (294kW/430Nm) and 4.0L horizontal 6-cylinder (368kW/450Nm). Available with 6-speed manual manual or 7-speed automatic dual clutch sequential trans (dct) transmissions. All variants feature rear-wheel drive.
