Porsche’s new boss is said to be considering scrapping plans for an electric Cayman and Boxster, due to delays and cost overruns.

The new Porsche 718 is a sport available in Australia from $122,000 (MLRP, excl. on-roads) for the Cayman variant and topping out at $312,700 for the Cayman Gt4 Rs variant.
There are 11 variants of the 718 available in Australia and this generation went on sale in early-2016.
The new 2023 718 is offered with a 3 year, unlimited km warranty.
Engine options for the Porsche 718 include 2.0 horizontal 4-cylinder turbo (220kW/380Nm), 2.5 horizontal 4-cylinder turbo (257kW/420Nm), 4.0 horizontal 6-cylinder (294kW/420Nm), 4.0 horizontal 6-cylinder (294kW/430Nm), 4.0 horizontal 6-cylinder (309kW/420Nm), 4.0 horizontal 6-cylinder (309kW/430Nm) and 4.0 horizontal 6-cylinder (368kW/450Nm). Available with 6-speed manual manual or 7-speed automatic dual clutch sequential trans (dct) transmissions. All variants feature rear-wheel drive.
