The MG ZS EV is a discontinued electric small SUV that helped introduce many Australian buyers to affordable EV ownership. Based on the popular ZS body, it combined compact SUV practicality with quiet electric driving and lower running costs than a petrol equivalent. Its importance was its accessibility: at launch, it made electric motoring feel more attainable for households that could not justify premium EV prices. The ZS EV appealed to commuters, small families and early EV adopters wanting familiar controls and a useful driving range. Although MG's electric range has moved on, the ZS EV remains a significant model in the local shift toward mainstream EVs.
