The Cupra Born is a rear-wheel drive electric hatchback with a more emotional brief than most small EVs. Based on Volkswagen Group electric architecture, it gives Cupra a compact model that focuses on design, response and urban usability in a lower, lighter-feeling package. The Born's appeal is its combination of instant electric torque, tidy dimensions and a cabin with a sportier feel than many mainstream electric cars. It suits buyers who want an EV that is easy to live with in the city but still interesting to drive on a winding road. As one of the few small rear-drive electric hatchbacks available locally, it occupies a distinctive place in the Australian market.
