Volkswagen Australia has recalled the 2021 Tiguan Allspace SUV to fix a problem with its rear wheel bearing housing.

“Due to a manufacturing issue, the rear wheel bearing housing may fracture. If this occurs it could result in loss of vehicle control,” Volkswagen Australia says in its recall notice.

“A loss of vehicle control could increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death of vehicle occupants and/or other road users.”

    • A total of 137 cars are included in the recall
    • A VIN list of affected vehicles is attached here
    • The original recall notice is attached here

Volkswagen Australia will contact owners of the affected vehicles and advise them to organise a free fix with their nearest dealer.
