Suzuki’s Queensland distributor has revealed a special Jimny in the same colour as the state’s rugby league team, which lost last night’s State of Origin decider.
In a press release sent just before the Maroons’ devastating defeat last night, Suzuki Auto Co revealed the Jimny Maroon Edition.
For now, it’s a one-off prototype that’ll go on a roadshow across seven of Suzuki Auto Co’s 32 dealers, from this Friday (July 10) to Saturday, September 5.
You’ll be able to find out exactly where and when to see the Maroon Edition, and vote on whether Suzuki Auto Co should produce further examples of it, by visiting the company's website.

Suzuki Auto Co has taken the standard three-door Jimny with a four-speed automatic transmission and taken it to The Wrap Boutique, based in Brisbane, to give it a custom maroon exterior with white racing stripes.
There are special Jimny Rhino Maroon Edition badges, with matching logos fitted inside the cabin.
Suzuki Auto Co says it’ll add custom leather seat trim with maroon stitching and piping late in July, courtesy of another Brisbane firm, WFC Oz.
"It's got maroon running through its fuel lines," said Suzuki Auto Co marketing manager Jake Tobin. "We wanted to build something that felt genuinely Queensland and introduce a conversation about what this state loves and what it wants to see on the road."

The Maroon Edition isn't being explicitly marketed as a tie-in with Queensland's state rugby league team.
Maroon is more than just the name of the team, as it’s been the Sunshine State’s official colour since 2003 – though, naturally, this is due to Queenslanders’ love of their home team.
Technically, Suzuki Auto Co also handles distribution of the Japanese brand in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, but unsurprisingly none of its dealers there will be displaying this distinctly Queensland edition.
Should Suzuki Auto Co turn this from a one-off prototype into a special edition, it’s unclear how much of a price premium it’ll charge.

In Queensland, the three-door Jimny auto is currently priced at $40,990 drive-away, though the range opens with the Lite manual at $36,490 drive-away.
Suzuki Auto Co’s Maroon Edition special follows the reveal of the Jimny Rhino by Suzuki Australia, the factory distributor that handles the Japanese brand everywhere else in Australia.
Priced at $44,990 before on-road costs, this takes the five-door Jimny XL auto and adds Kinetic Yellow paint, special rhino decals, satin silver accents inside and out, a unique grille, and 15-inch alloy wheels, among other enhancements.
