Ram Trucks Australia has issued two recall notices for a total of 93Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups, as the curtain airbag inflator may rupture without warning.
The first recall notice impacts a total of 88 Ram 2500 models produced in 2016.

“Due to a manufacturing issue, the airbags inflatable curtain inflators may rupture without warning,” said the company in its recall notice.
“In the event of an airbag inflator rupture, compressed gas and metal fragments may be propelled through the airbag cushion towards the vehicle occupants causing serious injury or death.”

The second recall affects a total of five Ram 2500 and 3500 models produced in 2016 that weren’t listed in the first recall notice.
Ram Trucks Australia provided the same statement for the second recall notice as the first one, as it also relates to the faulty curtain airbag inflator.

If you own an affected vehicle you’ll need to contact your nearest authorised Ram dealer to schedule in an inspection and replacement of one or both side airbag inflators, free of charge.
If you have further questions you can contact Ram Trucks Customer Assist on 1300 681 792.
