    Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 recalled

Ram Trucks Australia is recalling over 3000 vehicles across the 1500, 2500 and 3500 ranges due to an issue with their tailgates.

“Due to a manufacturing defect, one or both the tailgate strikers may have been misaligned during assembly,” the company says in its recall notice.

“This may result in an unintended tailgate opening while the vehicle is in motion or stationary.

“If the tailgate opens while the vehicle is in motion, unsecured cargo may fall onto the road and into traffic. This increases the risk of an accident causing serious injury or death to vehicle occupants and/or other road users.”

If you own an affected vehicle, you’ll need to contact a Ram dealership to have a free inspection and repair carried out.

If you have any further questions, you can contact the company on 1300 681 792.
