Nissan and Premcar have teased their next collaboration, the Patrol Warrior, that’s due here late in 2023.

Australian firm Premcar currently produces the Navara Pro-4X Warrior, a modified and more off-road-oriented version of Nissan’s ute.

Like the fettled Navara, Premcar’s Patrol doesn’t have any more power under the bonnet. However, Premcar says it has made enhancements to the big SUV’s suspension, while also giving it new wheels and tyres.

A previous teaser also depicted what look like Mercedes-AMG G-Class-style side-exit exhaust outlets.

Patrol Warriors will be imported from Japan and finished off with Australian-specific modifications at Premcar’s production centre in Melbourne’s north.

Though its engine is unchanged, the Patrol Warrior is considerably more powerful than Premcar’s other modified Nissan.

The big SUV’s 5.6-litre petrol V8 produces 298kW of power and 560Nm of torque, mated with a seven-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive.

Premcar says the development program for the Patrol Warrior has involved additional recruitment, expansion and investment.
