Multiple Mercedes-Benz models recalled

Mercedes-Benz Australia has recalled 386 vehicles equipped with 48-volt mild-hybrid systems, across the C-Class, CLS, E-Class, and GLC model lines, due to a fault which could cause a loss of power.

“Due to a software issue in the engine control unit, the fuel injectors may deactivate when exiting coasting mode. If this occurs, the vehicle may experience a sudden loss of motive power,” the carmaker said in its recall notice.

“A sudden loss of motive power whilst driving could increase the risk of an accident, causing injury or death to the vehicle occupants and/or other road users.”

• A total of 386 vehicles built between 2021 and 2023 are affected

If you own an affected C-Class, CLS, E-Class or GLC, you should contact your preferred Mercedes-Benz dealership as soon as possible to have the engine control unit software updated, free of charge.
