The Mercedes-Benz GLE, GLS, and EQC SUVs have been recalled for faulty vehicle jacks that may cause the vehicle to fall in two separate recall notices.

The first recall notice impacts a total of 4093 Mercedes-Benz GLE and GLS models produced between 2019 and 2022.

“The vehicle jack provided with certain vehicles may be faulty and also may not meet the requirements of the Australian Consumer Product Safety Standard,” said the company in its recall notice.

“If a faulty vehicle jack is used, it could become unstable and the raised vehicle may fall.”

The second recall affects a total of 11,230 Mercedes-Benz GLE, GLS, and EQC models produced between 2019 and 2022. The VINs of the GLE and GLS models included in the second recall aren’t listed in the first recall notice.

Mercedes-Benz provided the same statement for the second recall notice as the first one, as it also relates to the faulty vehicle jack.

If you own an affected vehicle of either one of these two recalls you’ll need to contact your local Mercedes-Benz dealer to have the vehicle jack inspected and replaced, if required, as soon as possible.

If you have further questions you can contact the Mercedes-Benz Customer Assistance Centre on 1300 300 896.
