Mercedes-Benz Australia is recalling 680 examples of its E-Class, CLS, and AMG GT models due to a manufacturing defect with the transmission wiring harness.

This recall affects E-Class, CLS and AMG GT models produced between 2018 and 2022.

“Due to a manufacturing defect the transmission wiring harness may be damaged,” said the company in its recall notice.

“The damage can allow moisture into the wiring harness, which may cause a short circuit resulting in a vehicle fire.”

If you own an affected vehicle, you’ll need to contact your nearest authorised Mercedes-Benz dealer to get the work carried out as soon as possible free of charge.

If you have any further questions you can call the Mercedes-Benz Customer Assistance Centre on 1300 300 896.
