MG is celebrating the Liverpool Football Club’s long awaited Premier League win with another Anfield edition, this time of its mid-sized HS SUV.
This won’t be a mere special edition, though. Instead, the MG HS Essence Anfield, which arrives later this month, will become a permanent fixture of the HS range.
Though it looks like a regular Essence outside, it’s proudly wearing Liverpool’s traditional red. Don’t see it? Well, check inside.

The Anfield edition brings the HS’s standout red interior colour scheme to Australia, featuring a two-tone black-and-red dashboard and leather seats.
Priced at $40,680 drive-away, the Essence Anfield is otherwise equipped identically to the Essence.

This includes a panoramic sunroof, surround-view camera and front sport seats, plus features found in lesser HS models such as proximity entry with push-button start, ambient lighting, and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and satellite navigation.
Also standard is the MG Pilot suite of safety features. This includes autonomous emergency braking, forward-collision warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, rear cross-traffic alert, and blind-spot monitoring.

For comparison, the regular Essence is priced at $36,990 before on-road costs, though MG is currently advertising drive-away pricing of $38,990.
All HS models are powered by a turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine producing 124kW of power and 250Nm of torque, mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
