MG is offering deals across almost its entire model range, but it’s the MG 4 electric hatchback that’s getting the largest discounts.
The Chinese brand’s Summer Savings campaign, which ends on January 31, 2026, includes discounts of $2000 on HS Hybrid+ and Super Hybrid mid-size SUVs, and between $500 and $1000 off certain variants of the MG 3 hatch, ZS small SUV, HS, and QS large SUV.
However, the MG 4 is being offered for between $4000 less than its recommended drive-away price in all bar top-spec XPower trim, which receives a $5000 discount.
The discounted pricing is available on all model year 2024 and 2025 (MY24 and MY25) vehicles, though it excludes demonstrator vehicles and fleet, government and rental agency buyers.

The significant discounts come after MG 4 sales dropped 56.9 per cent last year, the greatest drop of any MG model.
This slump, along with sales decreases for other core MG products like the MG 3, HS and ZS, led to MG posting an overall decline of 18.4 per cent in 2025, despite having a raft of new models in showrooms.
MG 4 pricing has fluctuated since its local launch in 2023.
That year, the range opened at $38,990 before on-road costs but, during September and October 2024, MG was offering the base Excite 51 from just $30,990 drive-away.

This offer, along with other deals, saw MG 4 sales soar by 97.9 per cent compared with the previous year. The base price was raised later in the year to $32,990 drive-away.
MG introduced a nationwide drive-away offer for the base Excite 51 late last year, but at $37,990 it was still quite a bit more expensive than it had been a year before.
The company confirmed last year it would phase out the 51kWh and 77kWh battery options in 2026, to help make room for the new front-wheel drive MG 4 Urban.
The more softly styled MG 4 Urban will be available with either 43kWh and 54kWh batteries, and a single 120kW/250Nm single-motor electric powertrain.

Announced by former MG Motor Australia CEO Peter Ciao, the MG 4 Urban was confirmed to launch here in the second quarter (April to June) of 2026.
The rear/all-wheel drive MG 4 is getting an update overseas, bringing an overhauled interior that resembles that of the related MG S5 EV electric SUV. MG has yet to announce local launch timing for this model.
In announcing a change of leadership earlier this month, MG Motor Australia confirmed that “at the appropriate time” it will announce an updated strategy for its “next phase of growth”.
| Model | Promotional drive-away price in NSW |
|---|---|
| MG 4 51 Excite | $36,032 (-$4000) |
| MG 4 64 Excite | $40,152 (-$4000) |
| MG 4 64 Essence | $42,212 (-$4000) |
| MG 4 77 Essence | $46,386 (-$4000) |
