Mercedes-Maybach has released a single teaser image of its EQS 680 SUV ahead of its reveal on April 17 at Auto Shanghai in China.
It will take the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV and add various Maybach design cues plus a potentially higher-output powetrain.
Mercedes-Maybach teased a photo of its EQS SUV under a thin sheet, through which we can make out chrome window accents that resemble those on the concept revealed in 2019.
Mercedes-Maybach has not released its powertrain options for the luxury model yet however, given the current spec Mercedes-Benz EQS tops out with the 580 nameplate, the latest addition to the EQS range thanks to Mercedes-Maybach could offer more power.
The current EQS SUV has three options available in Australia.
The EQS SUV range kicks off with the rear-wheel drive EQS 450+, powered by a single electric motor producing 265kW of power and 568Nm of torque.

The mid-range EQS 450 4Matic has a dual-motor all-wheel drive set-up with total system outputs of 265kW and 800Nm.
The range-topping EQS 580 4Matic also has a dual-motor all-wheel drive set-up with total system outputs of 400kW and 858Nm
The entire EQS SUV range feature a 107.8kWh lithium-ion battery pack that can provided a claimed range of 600km on the tougher WLTP test cycle.
In September 2021, Mercedes-Maybach revealed a concept version of the EQS SUV at the Munich motor show.
The concept rides on the same Electric Vehicle Architecture (EVA) as the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV and EQS fastback, EQE sedan and smaller EQE SUV.
It sticks to traditional Mercedes-Maybach design cues with chrome trim, a chrome waterfall grille, a two-tone paint scheme, Maybach badging on its D pillar and bold ‘Bowl’ design alloy wheels.
The driver’s door will automatically open on approach while a remote function is available for the remaining doors of the vehicle.
Inside the cabin, Mercedes-Maybach included the EQS SUV’s MBUX Hyperscreen with a digital instrument cluster, central touchscreen and front passenger display in one assembly.
The concept features a luxurious two-seat second-row with a prominent centre console, something that could feature on the production model.
In August last year Mercedes-Benz started production of its EQS SUV in the United States ahead of its Australian arrival in the first quarter of this year.
