Mercedes-Benz Australia is recalling 2855 examples of its C-Class sedan because water may get into the boot and cause a short circuit.
This recall affects current-generation C-Class models produced from 2021 to 2022.
“It is possible when opening the trunk lid, water may enter through after heavy rain or use of a high-pressure cleaning device,” said the company in its recall notice.
“As a result, moisture could enter and may cause a short circuit. In addition, a risk of vehicle fire cannot be ruled out.”

If you own an affected vehicle you’ll need to contact your most convenient Mercedes-Benz dealer to have the work carried out as soon as possible.
If you have further questions you can contact the Mercedes-Benz Customer Assistance Centre on 1300 300 896.
