Kia Australia has recalled 1288 examples of its updated Sorento, but the issue can be resolved by owners at home.
“Due to a manufacturing defect, incorrect fuel consumption and emissions data has been provided on the fuel consumption label,” Kia says in its recall notice.
“Vehicles do not comply with Australian Design Rule 81/02 – Fuel Consumption Labelling for Light Vehicles.
“There is no safety hazard associated with this recall.”

Kia Australia has advised it will mail a replacement label with the correct fuel consumption and emissions information to owners of affected vehicles, which can be affixed to the Sorento at home.
Owners of affected vehicles can contact Kia Australia for more information by calling 13 15 42.
