Kia Australia is recalling 315 examples of its EV6 electric crossover due to a software issue that may cause the vehicle to roll when it’s put in park.
This recall affects all EV6 variants produced from 2021 to 2022, and therefore affects all EV6s sold in Australia to date.
“Due to a software issue with the Shift Control Unit (SCU), the parking pawl may fail,” says the company in its recall notice.
“This could result in vehicle moving or rolling away whilst the vehicle is engaged in the park position.”

If you own an affected vehicle, you’ll need to contact your preferred authorised Kia dealer to have the SCU software updated, free of charge.
