Hyundai Santa Fe recalled

Hyundai is recalling more than 2000 examples of its new-generation Santa Fe due to a fault that could stop some of its airbags from deploying correctly.

“Due to a manufacturing issue, the airbag wiring harness under the rear passenger seat may not have been adequately secured,” the company says in its recall notice.

“As a result, it may become damaged over time due to seat adjustment leading to inadvertent deployment or an inability to deploy the rear seat side airbags.

“In the event of an accident, an airbag not deploying as intended could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants.”

If you own an affected vehicle, you’ll need to schedule an appointment with a Hyundai dealership to have the airbag wire harness inspected and rectified, free of charge.
