Genesis is recalling its G70 sports sedan as it could unexpectedly lose power.
“Due to a manufacturing defect, the fuel control valve in the high-pressure fuel pump could allow excess fuel to enter the pump,” the company says in its recall notice.
“If this occurs, the engine could stall resulting in a sudden loss of motive power whilst driving.
“A sudden loss of motive power whilst driving increases the risk of an accident, causing serious injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.”

The recall affects only vehicles powered by the turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine, and doesn’t include any G70s with the twin-turbo 3.3-litre V6.
If you own an affected vehicle, you’ll need to schedule an appointment with a Genesis service location to have the fuel pump inspected and, if necessary, replaced free of charge.
If you have any further questions, you can contact Genesis on 1800 908 070.
