Genesis Australia has recalled 572 electric vehicles (EVs) across the GV60, Electrified GV70 and Electrified G80 model lines, due to a shared fault which can lead to a loss of power.
“Due to a software issue in the Integrated Charging Control Unit, the auxiliary 12-volt battery may not charge as intended, resulting in battery drainage and loss of motive power,” the carmaker said in its recall notice.
“A loss of motive power whilst driving could increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and/or other road users.”

This fault also affects the related Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6. While a recall for the Genesis fault was issued in April 2024, this has now been superseded by the latest notice.
If you own an affected GV60, Electrified GV70 or Electrified G80, you can contact your nearest authorised Genesis dealer to schedule an appointment to have the software updated, free of charge.
