GAC to unveil its new off-roader and Porsche fighter today

GAC has announced it will unveil its first off-road vehicle at the Auto China 2026 motor show, which opens today in Beijing.

Along with several model unveilings, GAC has partnered with Huawei’s automotive arm to launch Aistaland – a new sub-brand which will go head-to-head with the likes of Porsche and Lotus.

The vehicle from Aistaland is set to be the GT7 shooting brake – a high-performance electric wagon featuring some of the most advanced technology ever fitted to a production car, designed to support Level 3 autonomous driving.

The GT7 – which appears to have been inspired by the Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo – uses an 800-volt architecture with up to three electric motors, and will sit in the one-million yuan class in China, or priced at roughly A$205,000.

Known by its internal codename T75, the GAC off-road SUV will make its public debut in Beijing and is believed to use a plug-in hybrid powertrain.

As a rival to the likes of the Denza B5, GWM Tank 300 PHEV, and the Yangwang U8, the T75 is expected to offer some insight into GAC’s upcoming foray into the plug-in hybrid ute segment – with the BYD Shark 6 and forthcoming Chery utes firmly in its sights.

GAC has also promised to unveil several new vehicles from Aion, Hyptec, and its other model lines and sub-brands, as well as showing the autonomous multi-rotor flying car, the Govy AirCab – which it says will be mass-produced.

As is the trend among automotive manufacturers right now, GAC will also be displaying its GoMate Mini humanoid robot at the Beijing show.
