BMW has recalled its X1 crossover for an issue with its seat belts.
“The outer seat belts in the second row may become jammed at the bottom of the trim panels,” the company says in its recall notice.
“As a result, the seat belts may not operate as intended.
“In the event of an accident if the seat belts do not operate as intended, the occupant of that seat may not receive the full protection of the seatbelt system and this could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants.”

If you own an affected vehicle, you’ll need to contact an authorised BMW dealer to have the recall work carried out, free of charge.
If you have any further questions, you can contact BMW Australia on 1800 243 675.
