2027 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class prices: Facelift brings more affordable entry-level model to Australia

The facelifted Mercedes-Maybach S-Class will be offered in two model grades in Australia, with a new V8-powered S580 joining the range-topping V12 S680.

The updated range is due in Australia during the first quarter (January to March) of 2027.

Mercedes-Benz Australia has confirmed the new Mercedes-Maybach S580 will be priced from $517,900 before on-road costs.

It's powered by an ‘M177 Evo’ 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine producing 395kW and 750Nm, supported by a 17kW/205Nm integrated starter-generator as part of a 48V mild-hybrid system.

The V8 is also used in the regular S-Class, while earlier versions of the M177 engine family power Aston Martin’s DB12 coupe and DBX SUV.

The Evo version gains a flat-plane crankshaft and revised fuel-injection system, among other changes designed to meet stricter Euro 7 emissions regulations.

The Maybach S680 will remain the flagship of the German brand’s sedan range, priced from $582,428 before on-road costs – an increase of $5828.

It retains its 463kW/900Nm twin-turbocharged V12 petrol engine, nine-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.

Despite featuring more power, torque and cylinders, it has the same 0-100km/h sprint time as the S580 at 4.5 seconds.

The revised Maybach lineup follows the significantly updated Mercedes-Benz S-Class range on which it's based, which is due to arrive in Australia in November 2026.

The Maybach models receive the same core changes, including a 20 per cent larger front grille and revised front and rear styling, with star-shaped elements in the ‘digital’ headlights and new tail-light graphics.

The headlights use micro-LED technology to provide a claimed 40 per cent larger field of illumination than the previous units, with the high beams offering a range of up to 600 metres.

New front and rear bumpers increase overall length by 14mm to 5484mm, while Maybach-specific 20-inch alloy wheels, rear-wheel steering of up to 4.5 degrees and air suspension are standard.

The S580 also comes with E-Active Body Control, which incorporates adaptive damping and can memorise the locations of speed bumps and other road-surface interruptions for up to 14 days.

New exterior finishes include sparkling black paint with a glass-flake clear coat and satin-finish Verde Silver Magno.

The cabin gains a new leather upholstery choice, while a leather-free interior is available for the first time.

Mercedes-Benz has also added more sound insulation, which it claims makes the updated models quieter than their predecessors.

Up front, a 14.4-inch central touchscreen forms part of the MBUX Superscreen, which extends across the dashboard to incorporate a separate display for the front passenger.

The new Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS) brings faster processing and features including over-the-air software updates.

Two 13.1-inch displays are fitted in the second row and can be operated using new customisable remote controls.

Several option packages will be offered, including the $24,200 First Class Package, which converts the cabin to a four-seat configuration and extends the centre console into the second row, adding a refrigerator and champagne flutes.

The $34,900 Night Series Package adds unique 20-inch seven-spoke alloy wheels, darkened Maybach exterior badging and illuminated door sills, along with Nappa leather upholstery and open-pore walnut trim.

Manufaktur exterior paint and leather upholstery packages will also be available, priced from $24,300 and $27,600 respectively.
