2027 Audi Q6 e-tron prices slashed by more than $20,000

Audi Australia has cut almost $10,000 from the price of its entry-level Q6 e-tron and more than $20,000 from the performance-focused SQ6 e-tron for the 2027 model year (MY27).

The German premium brand has also announced a drive-away promotion for the MY26 Q6 e-tron sport edition, with both SUV and Sportback body styles priced at $95,900 drive-away for a limited time.

The revised MY27 Q6 e-tron range will start at $89,900 before on-road costs for the SUV, with the Sportback priced identically.

That represents a $9918 reduction for the SUV from the current model’s $99,818 list price.

The move gives the Q6 e-tron an identical starting price to the new-generation BMW iX3, launched in late 2025, and sees the mid-size electric SUV undercut the cheapest Mercedes-Benz GLC electric ($110,000 before on-roads).

The four-variant MY27 range includes the SQ6 e-tron SUV priced at $129,900 before on-road costs, down $21,418 from the current model’s price of $151,318 plus ORCs.

Meanwhile, the SQ6 Sportback e-tron will be priced at $134,900 plus ORCs, also down by $21,418 from the model it replaces (previously $156,318 plus ORCs).

Audi claims the combination of lower prices and additional standard equipment represents savings of up to $22,800.

The MY27 announcement did not include news of replacements for the current long-range, rear-wheel drive Q6 e-tron performance or the dual-motor Q6 e-tron quattro SUV and Sportback.

Production of the revised models will begin in October 2026, ahead of first Australian deliveries in the first half of 2027.

Audi says its revised pricing will allow eligible customers to benefit from government EV incentives and higher Luxury Car Tax (LCT) thresholds.

The current LCT threshold for fuel-efficient vehicles, including electric vehicles, is $91,661. Under the proposed Australia-European Union free-trade agreement, a new $120,000 threshold for zero-emissions vehicles would take effect from July 1, 2027, subject to legislation being passed.

The proposed threshold would reduce LCT by around $8500 on a zero-emissions vehicle with an LCT value of at least $120,000 compared with the current threshold.

However, the Q6 e-tron’s $89,900 list price being below the current threshold does not automatically guarantee it will avoid LCT, as dealer delivery and certain other fees are included when calculating a vehicle’s LCT value.

Additional standard equipment for the MY27 Q6 e-tron includes 20-inch Audi Sport alloy wheels in place of the current model’s 19-inch wheels, plus a panoramic glass sunroof and metallic paint.

The panoramic roof is currently a $3600 standalone option, while most metallic paint colours cost an extra $2000.

The SUV also receives black roof rails, while a front dashcam, hands-free powered tailgate, three-screen digital dashboard and 360-degree camera system are standard.

There are no powertrain changes for the entry-level Q6 e-tron. Its single rear-mounted electric motor produces 185kW of power and 450Nm of torque, increasing to 215kW when launch control is activated.

It accelerates from 0-100km/h in 7.6 seconds, or 7.0 seconds using launch control, and is powered by an 83kWh battery with 75.8kWh of usable capacity.

Audi has not confirmed MY27 driving range figures, or whether the larger 20-inch wheels will affect the current model’s claimed range.

MY27 SQ6 variants gain a black exterior styling package as standard, bringing black finishes for the grille, bumper inserts, mirror caps and SUV roof rails, while the four-ring Audi badges are finished in anthracite grey.

There are no powertrain changes for the SQ6, which retains its dual-motor quattro all-wheel drive system.

It produces 360kW, or 380kW with launch control, and has quoted outputs of 275Nm from the front motor and 580Nm from the rear motor.

The SQ6 accelerates from 0-100km/h in a claimed 4.3 seconds using launch control and retains its 100kWh battery, of which 94.9kWh is usable, and gives the current version a WLTP range of 585km.

Ahead of the arrival of the MY27 range, the limited MY26 Q6 e-tron sport edition adds 20-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic glass roof and metallic paint to the regular model’s equipment.

It is priced at $95,900 drive-away for both body styles and is available through participating Audi dealers for a limited time, while stocks last.
