The Volvo ES90 electric liftback is available to order now, ahead of first customer deliveries beginning in early 2026.
Volvo says it’s a cross between a sedan, fastback and SUV, but its Australian website simply classifies it as a sedan.
It’s also now Volvo’s only model with a sedan-like shape on the Australian market, following the demise of the S60 earlier this year, as well as Volvo’s only passenger car in an otherwise all-SUV lineup.

It’s launching here only in single-motor rear-wheel drive guise with a 92kWh battery, so for now Aussies miss out on the dual-motor all-wheel drive and larger battery options offered overseas.
The ES90 uses an 800V electrical architecture and rides the SPA2 platform that underpins the EX90 electric SUV.
Comparing list prices, the ES90 opens at $88,880 before statutory on-road charges, and therefore costs thousands less than the Mercedes-Benz EQE300 ($135,200), Genesis Electrified G80 ($155,000) and BMW i5 ($155,900).

| 2026 Volvo ES90 Ultra Single Motor | $107,990 |
Volvo claims it takes 22 minutes to charge the ES90 from 10 to 80 per cent using a 300kW DC fast-charger.
