BYD Australia has released full specifications for its local Atto 1 electric hatchback range, but it won’t announce the all-important prices for its all-new entry-level electric vehicle (EV) until mid-November, when order books will open.
As detailed in our first drive review this morning, the diminutive 2026 BYD Atto 1 will be offered in Essential and Premium variants, each with a different motor and battery.

We can expect the base Essential grade to be priced around the $25,000 mark, which will make the Atto 1 Australia’s cheapest new EV by some margin – currently that title is held by the larger BYD Dolphin hatch, which starts from $29,990 before on-road costs.
| Model | Price before on-road costs |
|---|---|
| 2026 BYD Atto 1 Essential | $TBC |
| 2026 BYD Atto 1 Premium | $TBC |
Two different motor and battery combinations are available in Australia.
