Look out Hyundai i20 N, the Ford Fiesta ST back.

Ford has revealed pricing for the 2022 Fiesta ST, which touches down in Australia during the first quarter of 2022.

The new Fiesta will pack new technology such as a digital instrument cluster when it arrives, but it also loses some kit that was standard on its predecessor. Gone are blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, along with AM radio for 2022.

“The 2022 Fiesta ST will no longer be fitted with AM Radio from the 2022 model year, as AM radio is being phased out in Europe. The vehicles affected represent 0.5% of our total Australian sales,” a Ford spokesperson told CarExpert.

“We understand that this will cause inconvenience to some of our customers, however the vast majority of these vehicles are used mostly in metropolitan areas,” the spokesperson said.

“Due to current semi-conductor related supply issues, and in order to allow customers to receive their vehicles without additional delay, Australian-delivered Fiesta ST vehicles will not be produced with BLIS or rear cross-traffic alert. We will continue to monitor the semi-conductor supply situation.”

The car has gained new in-house sports seats with electric adjustment, matrix LED headlights with anti-dazzle high-beam, and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster for 2022. The 1.5-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine now has 30Nm more torque than before, although peak power has stayed put at 147kW.
