Volkswagen Australia has recalled the 2021 Tiguan Allspace seven-seater to fix a problem with the driver’s seat.

According to the company, bolts might not have been installed correctly on the driver’s seat runners.

“A missing bolt may reduce the seat’s restraint capability in the event of an accident, increasing the risk of injury to vehicle occupants,” Volkswagen says.

“In the event of a serious accident, this may result in death.”

    • A total of 32 cars are included in the recall
    • Affected cars were sold between 1 December, 2020 and 8 March, 2021
    • A VIN list of affected vehicles is attached here
    • The original recall notice is attached here

Volkswagen Australia will contact owners of the affected cars and advise them to organise a free fix with their nearest dealer.
