Mercedes-Benz Australia has recalled the 2018 Sprinter to fix a problem with the glow plugs.
“In the event of a frontal accident the power supply to the glow plugs may not be completely disconnected. If this were to occur it could result in a vehicle fire,” the recall notice says.
“A vehicle fire could increase the risk of injury or death of vehicle occupants and/or bystanders, as well as property damage.”

Mercedes-Benz will contact owners of the affected vehicles and advise them to organise a free fix with their nearest dealer.
