The BMW 6 Series is no longer on sale as a new car in Australia, but it remains an important part of BMW's grand touring history. Over different generations it covered coupes, convertibles and more practical Gran Turismo-style models, always sitting above the 5 Series with a stronger focus on luxury, road presence and long-distance performance. Its character was more relaxed and mature than BMW's smaller sports models, with an emphasis on effortless pace, a premium cabin and elegant proportions. Later versions leaned further into comfort and touring ability, while earlier coupe and convertible models carried more classic grand-tourer appeal. The 6 Series remains relevant for drivers interested in a larger BMW with style, comfort and understated performance.
