    2023 Alpina B5

The Alpina B5 is no longer on sale as a new car in Australia, but it remains one of Alpina's great modern grand tourers. Based on the BMW 5 Series, it paired a powerful twin-turbo V8 with Alpina's own chassis tuning, subtle styling changes and a more luxurious cabin finish. The B5 was about effortless speed and grand-touring composure, offering huge real-world performance with a calmer, more mature personality than a BMW M5. It could cover long distances quickly and comfortably, with the rare Touring body adding extra practicality in some markets. For enthusiasts, the B5 stands out as a discreet, beautifully resolved performance sedan or wagon with classic Alpina character.
