I had my 2024 Chery Tiggo 8 Pro Max Ultimate serviced through the dealership.
Overall, the experience was mixed. My first 1000 free service check visit was quick and straightforward with no issues, which I appreciated.

However, during the second visit, I dropped my car off at 9:30am advised the staff that I needed the car back by at least 1pm and was advised of an estimated pickup time of 12:30pm. I stayed in the local area with my two young children and planned my morning around waiting for the car to be ready at that time, expecting to receive a text when it was completed. When I hadn’t heard anything, I walked back to the dealership at around 12:45pm as I was nearby, and was then advised it would be another two hours until the car was ready. Due to this and needing to get my children home and in bed, I asked them to delay a software update and waited a further 45 minutes for the service to be completed. I have since arranged to return on another day for the software update, which is still pending.
In terms of the service experience, communication could be improved. While staff were generally friendly, there was a lack of proactive updates when delays occurred. For my upcoming visit, I’ll be making it clear that I expect a phone call if there are any delays, especially if the car isn’t being worked on at the scheduled time.

After both services, I also experienced an issue where the dashboard screen blacked out and restarted briefly while driving. This happened a couple of times, which was concerning at the time. However, the issue has since resolved itself, and I haven’t had any further problems.
Overall, I’d say the experience was okay; the initial service was efficient, but the delays and lack of communication during the second visit did impact my overall experience. The car itself is performing well.
Yes.

I really enjoy the overall comfort and features this car offers. The heated and ventilated seats are a standout, with the ventilation being especially great after the gym or on hot days when the seats can get a bit sticky. The inbuilt dash cam integrated into the main system is a great touch and feels seamless compared to aftermarket options.
The sound system is also really impressive – it’s clear, powerful, and I love that you can adjust the audio to the front or back of the car, which is especially useful when the kids are asleep in the back. The safety features are another big plus – it’s reassuring knowing how many airbags are in the car, and the cruise control is really easy to use. I also really like the stop/start function in traffic, so you don’t have to keep your foot on the brake the whole time, and the alert that lets you know when the car in front has moved is super helpful as well.
The boot space is a huge plus too – with the third row down, it easily fits my double pram and everything else that comes with having babies. Overall, it looks great, feels modern, and is very comfortable to drive.

I would definitely recommend it, and Chery as a brand. It’s a great option if you’re looking for a car that offers a lot of features that would usually be aftermarket, but all included as standard. It gives you that luxury feel without the high price tag, which makes it really good value for money.
I do really love the car. The only thing I would change is that I wish I had waited a couple of months to purchase the hybrid version that was released shortly after. At the time, I needed a bigger car before my second baby arrived, so waiting wasn’t really an option. But overall, I’ve been really happy with it and would definitely consider the brand again in the future.
I’ve been driving the 2024 Chery Tiggo 8 Pro Ultimate as my daily family car, and overall, it’s been a really positive experience, especially for the price point. I have two young kids, so space, comfort, and practicality were big priorities for me, and this car delivers on all of that.

The size of the car has been a huge win. I can comfortably fit my two rear-facing car seats and still have enough legroom for both myself as the driver and my partner in the passenger seat, which isn’t always the case with SUVs in this category. The boot space is also a standout, even with a double pram, gym bags, and all the usual daily items, there’s still plenty of room to stack groceries and extras without feeling cramped. It just makes day-to-day life a lot easier.
I drive the car daily to the gym, for shopping, and we’ve also taken regular trips down to the coast. It’s always been a smooth and comfortable drive, whether it’s short trips or longer distances. For a turbo engine, I’ve found the fuel efficiency to be really reasonable, which was a pleasant surprise for a car of this size.
Some of the convenience features have been a game-changer. I love that I can walk up to the car with the key and it automatically unlocks – it makes such a difference when your hands are full with kids. Being able to start the car before getting in is another huge plus, especially in Brisbane's heat, as I can cool the car down before putting the kids in. The power tailgate is also incredibly handy when loading prams, bags, or groceries without having a free hand.
The safety features and tech are also strong. The 360 camera makes parking really easy, and I love the alert that tells you when the car in front has moved – it’s one of those small features you don’t realise you need until you have it. The heated and ventilated seats are great, especially after the gym or on hot days, and the sound system is another highlight. I like that I can adjust the audio to focus on the front or rear, which is perfect when the kids are asleep in the back.

That said, there are a couple of downsides. The voice control (“Hey Chery”) isn’t very reliable – it often doesn’t respond when you actually try to use it, but will randomly activate from music or conversations that sound nothing like the command. Because of that, I don’t really use it.
Overall, I’d recommend the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro Ultimate to anyone looking for a spacious, feature-packed, family-friendly SUV without the premium price tag. It offers great value and is very easy to live with day-to-day. It has a clean, modern design and a refined, premium look and feel that makes you comfortable and confident to drive in.
If I were giving advice to a friend looking to buy a new car, I’d say don’t rely purely on opinions or brand perception. It’s worth looking into the broader market and doing a bit of research into the brand itself. Cars like Chery are well established in other parts of the world and have built a reputation for being reliable and practical. They might feel new here in Australia, but they’re not new globally.

I’d also say keep an open mind and focus on what you’re actually getting for your money. In many cases, you can pay more for a well-known badge while getting fewer features, whereas cars like this offer a lot of value and technology for the price.
At the end of the day, you’re the one driving the car every day, so it’s important to choose something that suits your lifestyle and feels good to be in something that doesn't just follow the crowd.
