    The 2020 Jeep Wrangler is available in two body styles, two trim levels and with two different engines, with prices ranging from $59,450 before on-road costs for the Wrangler Overland two-door to $70,950 before on-road costs for the Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon diesel four-door.

    It’s pricier than before but there are few SUVs as capable off-road as the Wrangler.

    Engines

    The 2020 Jeep Wrangler is available with either a petrol or a diesel engine.

    The petrol engine is a naturally-aspirated 3.6-litre V6 producing 209kW of power and 347Nm of torque. It’s mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

    The diesel engine is a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder producing 147kW of power and 450Nm of torque. It’s also mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

    Fuel Economy

    The 2020 Jeep Wrangler V6 consumes 9.6L/100km or 9.7L/100km on the combined cycle, depending on whether it’s the two-door or the four-door Unlimited. It uses 91RON regular unleaded fuel.

    The Wrangler diesel consumes 7.5L/100km on the combined cycle.

    Dimensions

    The 2020 Jeep Wrangler two-door measures 4334mm long, 1894mm wide and 1834mm tall.

    The Wrangler Unlimited measures 4882mm long, 1894mm wide and either 1838mm tall (Overland) or 1848mm tall (Rubicon).

    Safety

    When the Jeep Wrangler was tested by ANCAP in 2019, it received a rating of three stars.

    This rating was based on an adult occupant protection score of 60 per cent, child occupant protection score of 80 per cent, vulnerable road user protection score of 49 per cent, and a safety assist score of 51 per cent.

    All 2020 Jeep Wrangler models come standard with full-speed autonomous emergency braking with forward-collision warning, as well as blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, anti-lock brakes, and front and front-side airbags.

    • Urethane shifter
    • Cloth seats with no heating

    A $1950 Rubicon luxury package adds back:

    • Heated front seats
    • Leather-wrapped shifter
    • Heated steering wheel

    The Rubicon can also be had with a soft top or body-colour hard top. A steel front bumper is optional but it misses out on front parking sensors.

    Servicing

    The 2020 Jeep Wrangler requires servicing every 12 months or 12,000km when equipped with the petrol engine and every 12 months or 20,000km with the diesel.

    In addition to a five-year, 100,000km warranty, Jeep offers five years of capped-price servicing. Each service costs $399 with the petrol and $499 with the diesel.
