    Mitsubishi Pajero Comparison

The Mitsubishi Pajero is no longer sold new in Australia, but it remains one of the brand’s best-known large four-wheel drive nameplates. Long associated with outback touring, towing and family adventure, the Pajero built its appeal around a practical wagon body, serious off-road ability and a more manageable footprint than some larger 4WD rivals. Later examples are best remembered for diesel touring range, all-terrain confidence and the kind of cabin space that suited regional families, caravan owners and weekend travellers. While the previous-generation Pajero has been discontinued, Mitsubishi is expected to revive the name on a next-generation ladder-frame SUV to replace the also-discontinued Pajero Sport. Like the Triton ute on which it will be based, the new Pajero is expected to be primarily diesel-powered but also eventually available with hybrid or plug-in hybrid powertrains.
